Leo JR Boon was born on the 1st of January 1966 at Zuidlaren, the Netherlands. He became interested in photography in the early 1980?s, progressing to bird photography, resulting in many of his photographs being published in international magazines and books about birds. During the mid 1990?s he diversified from bird to people photography and worked several years for an international royalty-free stock-agency. Now a freelance photographer, Leo has created his own unique style. He lives in IJmuiden and a proud father of two boys and one girl; in 2014 he met Audrey Willems, a photographer as well, and mother of two daughters, living in Almere. They often work together but both still enjoy their own projects. In what little spare time he has, when not taking care of his children, partner or his dog; he still enjoys watching birds.
