MIXED MEDIA / COLLAGE ARTWORKS
The term collage was coined by Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso in the early 20th century and derives from the French word "coller" meaning glue. Collage is a technique used in visual arts where an artwork is created from different forms such as photographs, newspaper clippings and other materials to create a new whole. My collages are built up with several layers which are often transparent. The layers were made by me first with acrylic paint, watercolor, paper, magazines or newspaper. Then they are often modified with acrylic, stamping, pencil or ballpoint pen.
