Infrared filters are a perfect way to see the mystery in the landscape - transforming greens into whites and blues into blacks, it gives another translation of views we thought we knew. Dramatic constrasts and long exposure time clouds are among the effects, but I think even more important is that you start looking better, since the 'normal' reality isn't there anymore. This also leaves more to the imagination of the mind....
